The Menu

I loved this. It was beautifully shot. The aesthetics and scenery were amazing. The mood set by decor and lighting was perfect.
I went in blind. Did not even watch a trailer. The turn things take was disturbing and unsettling. But right up my alley. My wife probably would’ve hated it. But this one will go in the re-watch queue for sure.
Of course, Ralph Fiennes was excellent. His Shakespearean background is obvious and perfect for this role. I felt like I was watching Anthony Hopkins at times, which is great. Also, Anya Taylor-Joy was in stellar form. She absolutely nailed her character and was a pleasure to watch. But I think my favorite character is probably Elsa, embodied by Hong Chau. Elsa was serious, dedicated, and terrifying. I’d love to have her on my team but certainly wouldn’t want to piss her off. I’m stoked to see Hong Chau again soon in The Whale.
