This one had been on my list for a bit. I like Joe Hill. His stuff is scary. N0S4A2 gave me nightmares for a while, which was kind of fun. I’ll stay away from spoilers and keep this concise:

• Ethan Hawke was great at being terrible
• There is some quality profanity from a 12-ish year old girl
• Pink Floyd - On the Run plays at the perfect time

Every cast member killed it in this, really. Madeleine McGraw and Mason Thames had intense rolls to play. They pulled it off beautifully. Also, James Ransone was in excellent form and absolutely nailed his character.

For movie-based books, I typically read the book first. But I flipped things around for this one. I’ll definitely go read the book and I’ll certainly be watching more films directed by Scott Derrickson.
